Secretary for Innovation and Technology Bureau Visited PolyU

Mr. Alfred Sit, JP, Secretary for Innovation and Technology (ITB) of The Government of the HKSAR , Ms. Annie Choi, JP, Permanent Secretary for Innovation and Technology and Ms. Rebecca Pun, JP, Commissioner for Innovation and Technology visited PolyU on 6th July 2020, and were welcomed by Deputy Chairman of the PolyU Council Dr. Lawrence Li, PolyU’s President Prof. Jin-Guang Teng, Deputy President and Provost Ir Prof. Alexander Wai, Executive Vice President Dr. Miranda Lou and other PolyU representatives.

Prof. Terence Lau, Interim Associate Vice-President (Innovation and Technology Development) introduced PolyU’s latest research innovations and collaborative platforms while Dr. Lawrence Li shared the University’s upcoming direction in the research and technology development. PolyU management is pleased to exchange with ITB on the technology development prospect of Hong Kong.

PolyU management also brought the guests to visit the laboratories of the recent Diagnostic Project to learn about the rapid, automated multiplex diagnostic system developed by PolyU for quick virus testing and the University’s efforts in combating COVID19. They also toured the Aviation Services Research Centre to understand more about the University’s top-notch technologies in aircraft maintenance.
