Summary
PolyU has committed to establishing an extensive network in the mainland and embracing the opportunities presented by the Greater Bay Area development. Led by Prof Wing-tak Wong, Deputy President and Provost of PolyU, and Prof Christopher Chao, Vice President (Research and Innovation) of PolyU, a delegation of PolyU scholars visited “Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Co-operation Zone” to learn about its latest development. We were honoured to join the meeting chaired by Mr Ouyang Huiyu, Vice-District Mayor of the Futian District People’s Government, exploring suitable research projects and the relevant support facilities.
The delegation also visited Jinjiang Municipal People's Government Office in Shenzhen to share discussion on how to strengthen cooperation. In February, PolyU and the city government of Jinjiang signed a framework agreement to drive the establishment of the PolyU-Jinjiang Research Institute with the aim to strengthen research collaboration among industry, academia and research organisations and foster development along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
