Summary
Professor Wing-tak Wong, Deputy President and Provost of PolyU and Professor Christopher Chao, Vice President (Research and Innovation) of PolyU led the PolyU delegation to Jinjiang last week and conducted a business matching session with the School Enterprise of Jinjiang Government. The session aimed at making connections with related industries in Jinjiang City, introducing innovative research and technologies, and discussing the implementation of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University - Jinjiang Research Institute.
The delegation also visited local research institutions, enterprises and universities etc to further promote scientific research collaboration projects between PolyU and Jinjiang.
In addition, PolyU also showcased the latest scientific research achievements at The 24th Jinjiang International Footwear & The 7th Sports Industry International Exposition, China. Various innovative products such as mechanical bionic hands, high-precision flexible sensor, and 3D printing technology special insoles for diabetic patients were displayed in the event.
In February, PolyU and the city government of Jinjiang came to an agreement to jointly establish the PolyU-Jinjiang Research Institute to strengthen research collaboration among industry, academia and research organisations to drive development along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
