PolyU Joins The First Overseas Chinese Talent Conference for Development

On December 20-22 2023, Prof. YU Changyuan and Assistant Professor Dr HUANG Dongmei from Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering represented PolyU to join The First Overseas Chinese Talent Conference for Development jointly organised by the China Overseas Exchange Association and the People's Government of Fujian Province.

The conference, held in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, attracted over a thousand experts and technical professionals from overseas Chinese communities, representatives of overseas Chinese businesses, key technology associations, research institutes, and high-end think tanks, fostering industry-academia collaboration, technology transfer, and facilitating exchange and cooperation.

PolyU enthusiastically participated in the vibrant conference activities, actively engaging and interacting with international overseas Chinese elites. Prof. YU Changyuan stated, "The conference leverages the international advantages of overseas Chinese, gathering talents to join hands in national technological transformation and industrial upgrading. We are also developing the PolyU-Jinjiang Technology and Innovation Research Institute as a platform for collaboration with higher education and scientific innovation in Fujian, hoping to contribute to the scientific and educational cause of China."

Dr. HUANG Dongmei expressed, "I am honoured to participate in the conference, which is a gathering of talents from home and abroad, promoting the integrated development of science and technology. This conference has deepened my understanding of my professional field and made me deeply aware of the importance of interdisciplinary integration. I will continue to advance my professional skills, transfer research results, and serve the development of the industry."
