I obtained my undergraduate degree in sport rehabilitation from Beijing Sport University (BSU) in China. Then I was admitted to a joint programme of BSU and PolyU and completed two master’s degrees (MPhil in Rehabilitation Medicine and Physical Therapy at BSU and MSc in Sports Physiotherapy at PolyU). In addition to theoretical knowledge, I have acquired clinical skills. When the China national table tennis team was preparing for the Tokyo Olympics, I as a physical therapist provided rehabilitation treatment and injury management for the Olympic athletes.
Under the supervision of Dr Arnold Wong, a nationally and internationally recognised researcher, I conduct research which focuses on the association between sleep disorders and chronic pain, as well as the management of people with concomitant pain and insomnia. Our findings will help explain the effects of insomnia on pain regulation and explore the role of insomnia in patients with chronic pain.
