Huang Jiebin is a research student supervised by Prof. Amy Fu. He obtained his BSc in Rehabilitation Therapy from the Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, China, and his MSc in Sports Physiotherapy from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Between his undergraduate and postgraduate study, he practised as a physiotherapist in the Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University for several years, focusing on chronic musculoskeletal diseases. To have a deeper understanding of academic research, he started his PhD training at RS of PolyU.
Jiebin’s research focuses on detecting and preventing knee joint degeneration after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). He wishes to find out the interrelationship between musculotendinous factors and pathogenesis of patellofemoral joint osteoarthritis (OA) in patients with ACLR. The findings can help people to have a better understanding of the post-ACLR OA and help thousands of patients with ACLR reduce the risk of joint disfunction.
