The research team recently participated in the RISports 2024 Symposium on Sports Science & Technology. Dr. Billy So had the honor of coordinating the swimming session and inviting distinguished experts in swimming biomechanics, including Professor Ludovic Seifert from the University of Rouen Normandy, France; Professor Yifan Lu from the School of Sports Medical Rehab at Beijing Sport University; Mr. Dengrong Cui, coach of the Chinese national swimming team and mentor to gold medalist Zhang Yufei from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics; and Ms. Yuhan Zhang, a former Olympian and 2018 Asian Games gold medalist in the women’s 400m freestyle.
Additionally, team members Karen Tam, Damian Sutanto, and Raymond Mak presented their research through poster presentations, showcasing their collective efforts and achievements. The symposium proved to be a resounding success, providing valuable insights that will undoubtedly inform future endeavors.
Congratulations are in order for Karen Tam Hoi Lam, a Master of Physiotherapy capstone student and Olympic representative for Hong Kong swimmers, for winning the Best Poster Presentation Award at the RISports 2024 Symposium on Sports Science & Technology for the MPT research project supervised by Dr. Billy So.
