Dr Franco LEUNG King-chi
Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology, PolyU
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Technology (2011)
Master of Philosophy (2013)
PolyU Young Innovative Researcher Award (2022)
With his expertise and achievements in supramolecular and material science research, Dr Franco Leung King-chi received the prestigious Croucher Innovation Award in 2021. The Award aims to identify a small number of exceptionally talented young scientists working at an internationally competitive level, offering them substantial support at the formative stage of their careers. Before joining his alma mater, Dr Leung was a postdoctoral fellow of the research group of Prof. Ben L. Feringa – the 2016 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry – at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. Currently, his research direction uses the advanced synthetic methodologies for developing novel stimuli-responsive molecular switches, out-of-equilibrium supramolecular systems, and next-generation supramolecular soft matters towards application in biomedical materials and drug deliveries.
