江苏省产业技术研究院 (JITRI) 为理大PI设立每年2000万元人民币的资金经费，为JITRI专门机构/ JITRI研究所衍生公司合作研究项目提供研究经费。资金金额取决于研究所与PI之间的共同协议。重点领域包括材料与能源环保、信息技术、生物医药和高端装备製造。JIRTI已经与理大 PI展开了成功的项目。

为促进粤港创新资源共享，提升两地自主创新能力，积极推动粤港澳大湾区国际科技创新中心建设，围绕粤港两地科技创新合作需求，推动项目合作研发与产业化落地。重点领域包括新一代资讯技术、半导体与积体电路、人工智能、金融科技、生物医药、食品安全、新材料、新能源、节能环保（大气及水汙染治理）、先进製造、海洋科学等，优先支持与新冠病毒疫情防控有关的研发专案。

The Government announced in the 2020-21 Budget that HK$200 million would be allocated for setting up the new GTF to provide better and more focused funding support for the R&D and application of decarbonisation and green technologies, so as to expedite low-carbon transformation and enhance environmental protection in Hong Kong.

In the 2019 Policy Address Supplement, the Chief Executive announced the setup of the Smart Traffic Fund (“Fund”) to provide funding support to local organisations or enterprises for conducting research and application of innovation and technology with the objectives of enhancing commuting convenience, enhancing efficiency of the road network or road space, and improving driving safety. $1 billion have been earmarked for the Fund, which commences operation in 2020-21.

The Transport Department has engaged the Hong Kong Productivity Council as the Implementation Partner to serve as the Secretariat for the Fund. The Fund aims to provide support for enterprises or organizations to conduct research and application on vehicle-related I&T with at least one of the following objectives:

Enhancing convenience of motorists;
Enhancing efficiency of the road network or road space; and
Improving driving safety.
