辛美琪博士于中山大学(广州)取得医学学士学位(预防医学专业),其后于香港中文大学赛马会公共卫生及基层医疗学院取得博士学位(公共卫生专业)并接受博士后培训。
作爲一名行爲科学研究者,辛博士致力于应用行爲医学的前沿理论及方法学,在基层医疗健康范畴内来制定有效且可扩展性高的干预项目。她的主要研究领域包括健康行为及健康促进、健康传播、健康心理和流行病学。她尤其感兴趣乐龄健康相关的研究题目,包括社区环境下针对长者及其照顾者的健康促进研究。她最主要的研究方向是利用劝服性传播策略以克服大众对健康信息的抗拒心理,从而促进其健康行为改变。她的博士课题为一项由优配研究金资助的随机对照试验。她设计、实施并评估了一项利用叙事劝服以促进HIV预防行为的网络干预。最近,她以首席研究员身份获得另一项优配研究金资助。此研究旨在制定一项智能手机为媒介的叙事劝服干预,以促进社区长者的流感疫苗接种行爲。除了干预研究,她亦擅长通过设计问卷调查研究,以探究健康或疾病行爲相关且可调节的社会心理影响因素。她主要的研究工作是探究社区人士如何感知并应对疾病或健康威胁。
