Dr Tony Tse and Dr Dan Wang conducted a 2-day workshop on "Understanding and Capturing the Chinese Tourism Market" for 43 participants from the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority on 12-13 October 2015.

Professor Kaye Chon gave a speech on the "Hotel ICON Success Story" at the Power Talk tourism research seminar in Bandung, Indonesia on 11 November 2015.

Dr Tony Tse spoke on the topic "Sustainable Tourism: Introduction to the Concepts and International Initiatives on Sustainable Tourism" at Capacity Building on Sustainable Tourism: Policies for Delivering Social, Environmental and Economic Benefits in the Asia-Pacific Region in Jeju, Korea on 17 November 2015.

Dr Basak Denizci Guillet,
Dr Deniz Kucukusta,
Dr Markus Schuckert and
Mr Watson Baldwin presented their research findings at the Hotel ICON Research Presentation 2015 held at Hotel ICON's Silverbox Ballroom on 24 November. This year's research topics ranged from colour preference in hotel rooms, reducing food waste and customer perceptions on design to the patronage of club floor amenities. The projects were conducted through online surveys, face to face interviews or by using the Hotel ICON database.

Mr Joey Wu presented a paper entitled "A Study of Online Reviews of the Most Popular Restaurant Guide in Hong Kong" at the International Journal of Arts and Sciences International Conference for Business and Economics in Freiburg, Germany on 1-4 December 2015.

Dr Tony Tse moderated a panel discussion on "Career Development and Grooming Young Concierges" at the Hong Kong Hotel Concierge Forum 2015 on 2 December.

Dr Mimi Li and Dr Vincent Tung attended the 2015 TTRA Asia Pacific Chapter Annual Conference in Tokyo, Japan on 4-6 December. Dr Tung presented a co-authored paper entitled "Investigating Travel Memories on Social Media, through Online Review and Photo Posting".

Dr Honggen Xiao attended the 3rd World Research Summit for Tourism and Hospitality and 1st USA-China Tourism Research Summit in Orlando, USA on 15-19 December 2015.
Professor Song participated in a panel discussion on
"Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship as Driving Forces for Hospitality and Tourism Industries" and presented two co-authored papers entitled
"Understanding Tourism Supply Chain Companies' Use of Forecasting Support Systems: The Case of Hong Kong" and "How to Cater the Critical Guests?".
Dr Wang presented a paper entitled
"The Exploration of Tourists' Decision Making on the Move".
Dr Xiao presented a paper entitled
"A Humanities Wanderer 'Lost' in Tourism Studies: A Critical Reflection".
