Ms Kate, Mingjie Ji, a research student in the Doctor of Philosophy in Hotel and Tourism Management programme, won the
Best Research Paper award for the Innovation and the Food & Beverage Consumer Theme and
Best Overall Research Paper for her paper
"Tourist Food Consumption: Interactive Effect of Novelty Seeking and Personality Traits" at the 25th Council for Hospitality Management Education Conference in Belfast, Northern Ireland on 4-6 May 2016.

SHTM VISITORS
19 May - Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, Thailand
Led by Dr Nopparat Maythaveekulchai, President of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), an 18-member delegation visited the School. The SHTM and TCEB signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate and work together in the areas of Executive Education, Internship Programmes and Consultancy Services.

WORKSHOPS
Professor Kaye Chon and Dr Sam Kim attended the 14th APacCHRIE Conference in Bangkok, Thailand on 11-13 May 2016. Professor Chon spoke on the topic "Where is the Blue Ocean?". Dr Kim presented a co-authored paper entitled "Differences in Willingness to Pay for a Restaurant Menu Price According to Hedonic Variables".
