SHTM Ranked World No. 1
The SHTM has again excelled in university rankings, taking top spot in the new "Hospitality and Tourism Management" category of ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2017. This is further concrete proof of the School's commitment to achieving global excellence in hospitality and tourism education and research.

ShanghaiRanking's Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) has been published since 2009 and is regarded as one of the three most influential and widely observed university measures, alongside the QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Read more

Esteemed Hotelier Bestowed APacCHRIE Lifetime Achievement Award - Dr Ho Kwon Ping
Dr Ho Kwon Ping, founder and Executive Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings, was honoured with the APacCHRIE Lifetime Achievement Award by the Asia-Pacific Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (APacCHRIE) at a ceremony held at Sofitel Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia on 2 June 2017. 17th Asia Pacific Forum for Graduate Students Research in Tourism - Save the Date

Co-hosted by the SHTM and School of Travel Industry Management at the University of Hawaii, the 17th Asia Pacific Forum for Graduate Students Research in Tourism (APF) will be held at the Hawaii Convention Centre from 16 to 18 May 2018 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Read more
ACHIEVEMENTS AND RECOGNITION
Professor Kaye Chon, Professor Brian King, Dr Barry Mak, Dr Karin Weber and Dr Tony Tse won the Grand Award in the Business Excellence category of the PolyU Distinguished Knowledge Transfer Awards 2017, for their project "Development of New Academic Programmes in Travel and Tourism Management for King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia".
