Hosted by the Belt and Road International School at Guilin Tourism University (GLTU) and the Guangxi Academy of Tourism Professionals, and co-organised by the SHTM and GLTU in collaboration with the Silk Road International University of Tourism, Uzbekistan and Palembang Tourism Polytechnic, Indonesia, the 2nd "One Belt • One Road • One Tourism" International Conference will take place in Guilin, China on 13-15 October 2019. Taking the theme
of "Development, Marketing, Sustainability", with an emphasis on "Impactful Education", the conference will provide an interactive platform for academics and industry professionals in the tourism field to share their latest research, analyse industry trends and build connections in relation to the Belt and Road initiative, in which tourism is expected to play a significant role.
Prominent academics and industry leaders in hospitality and tourism have agreed to speak at the keynote
sessions, including Professor Kaye Chon, SHTM Dean, Chair Professor, Walter Kwok Foundation Professor in International Hospitality Management and 2011 UNWTO Ulysses Prize Laureate; and Professor David Airey, Emeritus Professor, University of Surrey and 2006 UNWTO Ulysses Prize Laureate. The conference organisers welcome academics in hospitality and tourism, industry professionals and government officials to participate in and submit papers to the conference. Paper Submission
Any individuals who wishes to submit a paper to be presented at the conference should submit an abstract of the proposed paper for review. The abstract should be typed in English or Chinese in Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced on one A4 page and accompanied by a separate attached cover page indicating the topic of the paper and the author's name, affiliation, contact number and email
address. The abstract and cover page should be sent to Dr Tony Tse (tony.tse@polyu.edu.hk) by email attachment, with "Submission of Paper to OBOROT Conference" in the email subject line.
The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 31 July 2019. Authors will be informed of the decision (whether the abstract has been accepted, rejected or accepted with revision) by 15 August. Authors must submit final abstracts
or full papers by 30 August to ensure that they are included in the conference proceedings. Authors may choose not to submit abstracts or full papers for the conference proceedings. Once a submission has been accepted, at least one of the authors must register for and present the paper at the conference. Authors will have 15 minutes to present their abstracts or full papers during the conference. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided during the conference.
Conference
Format
Registration will take place on 13 October. The conference will be held for the whole day on 14 October and the morning of 15 October. There will be plenary sessions, break-out sessions and a display session in which for authors and institutions to present their research findings.
