SHTM Establishes 2+2 Dual Degree Programmes with Renowned Hospitality and Tourism Institutions
In spring 2022, the SHTM signed agreements with Kyung Hee University in Korea, Mahidol University and Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus in Thailand to establish 2+2 dual degree programmes in the fields of tourism, events, hotel and hospitality management. These programmes will give undergraduate students from the three universities the opportunity to spend their third and fourth years of study at the SHTM after completing their first two years at their home institution. Students who successfully complete these programmes will be awarded degrees from both their home and host universities.

The virtual signing ceremony between the SHTM and the College of Hotel and Tourism Management (CHTM) of Kyung Hee University took place on 25 February 2022. It was presided over by Professor Kaye Chon, SHTM Dean, Chair Professor and Walter and Wendy Kwok Family Foundation Professor in International Hospitality Management, and Professor Namho Chung, CHTM Dean and Fellow Professor at Kyung Hee University.

The dual degree programme agreement between the SHTM and Mahidol University International College (MUIC) was signed virtually on 9 March 2022. The SHTM was represented by Dean Kaye Chon, while Mahidol University was represented by Professor Chulathida Chomchai, M.D., Dean of the MUIC.

The virtual ceremony with the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism (FHT) at Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus took place on 21 March 2022 was presided over by Dean Kaye Chon and Dr Pornpisanu Promsivapallop, FHT Dean and Assistant Professor at Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus.

Dual degree programmes are part of an important trend of inter-institutional collaboration in higher education. Established in the field of hospitality and tourism, these three sets of programmes are an important milestone for the SHTM and exemplify the School's strength in sharing resources with other internationally renowned hospitality and tourism institutions.

The programmes also demonstrate the SHTM's commitment to providing added value for undergraduate students. Together with our partners, we are committed to establishing a framework to support students' holistic development, particularly in terms of their global outlook and cross-cultural appreciation. In today's fast-changing world of hospitality and tourism, the programmes will benefit aspiring students by enhancing their learning experiences and broadening their international vision.
