The Undergraduate Student Research Competition at IMPACT2023 aims to showcase undergraduate students' theoretical knowledge and research skills and to expand the frontiers of their knowledge in the fields of hospitality, tourism, MICE and related fields.
The awardees will be invited to attend and present their research at IMPACT2023, which will be held at Hotel ICON in Hong Kong on 7 and 8 December
2023.
Eligibility
Current undergraduate students or recent graduates (within 1 year of completing their undergraduate degree) at universities offering hospitality and tourism programmes worldwide are eligible to enter the competition. If the focal research has been conducted under faculty supervision, the student must be the first author of the submitted paper.
Awards
- First prize (one student)*: A travel scholarship of up to HK$16,000 to defray
travel costs to Hong Kong and related expenses for presenting the paper at IMPACT2023
- Second prize (two students)*: A travel scholarship of up to HK$8,000 to defray travel costs to Hong Kong and related expenses for presenting the papers at IMPACT2023
- Additionally, the students who win the first and second prizes will be offered a full scholarship if they apply and are accepted into the MSc programme offered by the SHTM for a PolyU degree for the 2024/25 academic year (recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher during their studies)
* The Selection Committee reserves the right to select fewer than one 1st prize and two 2nd prize awardees, depending on the quality of the submissions.
