Following the success of the inaugural Rosewood Day in 2022, the SHTM and Rosewood Hong Kong again joined hands to host this signature event on 24 November 2023. The event commenced with inspiring speeches by Professor Kaye Chon, SHTM Dean, Chair Professor and Walter and Wendy Kwok Family Foundation Professor in International Hospitality Management, and Mr Hugo Montanari, Managing Director of Rosewood Hong Kong.
Moderated by SHTM
Assistant Professors Dr Dori Davari and Dr Jaehee Gim, the panel discussion that followed featured senior executives from Rosewood Hong Kong: Mr Hugo Montanari; Ms Ada Ng, Director of Social Impact; Ms Vickie Ho, Director of Marketing and Communications; and Mr Dennis Wong, Director of Talent and Culture. SHTM students not only benefited from the insightful knowledge shared by these experienced hoteliers but also had the invaluable opportunity to network with them for professional development
during the breakout session.
At the event, a team of talented SHTM students in the BSc in Hotel Management and BSc Scheme in Hotel and Tourism Management (Hotel Management) programmes, namely Mr Songmeng Liu, Miss Qing Shu and Miss Jiaqi Zhang, won the Rosewood Day Social Impact Challenge 2023. They had the opportunity to present their innovative strategies and practical activities and received certificates and prizes from Dean Kaye Chon and Mr Hugo Montanari. Two finalist teams were also recognised, receiving
certificates and prizes from Dr Catherine Cheung, SHTM Associate Dean and Associate Professor, and Mr Dennis Wong.
SHTM wishes to thank Rosewood Hong Kong for its steadfast support and commitment to nurturing the next generation of hospitality leaders to advance the industry.
