Educational Excellence Celebrated at SHTM's 45th Anniversary Gala Dinner

The SHTM celebrated its 45th anniversary by hosting a gala dinner at Hotel ICON, its one-of-a-kind teaching and research hotel, on 30 May 2024. Nearly 300 guests from around the world attended this event to celebrate 45 years of educational excellence at the SHTM.

Renowned Hotelier Jung-Ho Suh Honoured with the SHTM Lifetime Achievement Award

The prestigious SHTM Lifetime Achievement Award was announced at the gala dinner hosted by the SHTM on 30 May 2024. Mr Jung-Ho Suh, Chairman of the Ambassador Hotel Group, received this distinction and was inducted into the SHTM's Gallery of Honour on the same day.

IMPACT2024 to Explore Tourism and Hospitality in the Age of Transformation

The IMPACT2024 conference is being organised by the SHTM and the Research Centre for Digital Transformation of Tourism in collaboration with STR SHARE Centre, and will be held in Hong Kong from 11 to 13 October 2024.

Undergraduate Student Research Competition @ IMPACT2024

The Undergraduate Student Research Competition aims to showcase undergraduate students' theoretical knowledge and research skills and extend the frontier of their knowledge in hospitality, tourism, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) and other related fields.

The SHTM's MicroMasters in International Hospitality Management, a unique and highly successful Master's programme offered via the world-renowned edX online learning platform, continues to attract learners from around the world.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND RECOGNITION

Professor Cathy Hsu received the World Tourism Academy Leader Award 2024 from the Association of Turkish Tourism Academics at the 5th Conference on Managing Tourism Across Continents in Istanbul, Turkey on 1-4 May 2024.

Mr Raúl Diez Canseco Terry, Former Vice-President of Peru and Founder and Chairman of the Board of Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola; Dr Luciana de la Fuente, Executive President; Professor Ramiro Salas Bravo, Grand Chancellor; and Mr José Sotomayor Muñoz, Vice President visited the SHTM.
