Dr Norman Au presented a co-authored paper entitled "Understanding Factors Affecting Senior Tourists' Adoption Intention Towards Mobile Tourism Booking Technologies" at the Asia Pacific Conference on Management and Social Sciences in Sapporo, Japan on 1-3 August 2024.
Dr Ying Wang participated in the Editors' round table and presented a paper entitled "Tourist Experience in the Conflict Powerscape" at the 9th Annual Conference on Tourist Behaviour Research & the 6th Tourism Experimental Research Methodology Symposium in Jinan, China on 15-17 August 2024.
Dr Janelle Chan presented a paper entitled "Leveraging AI-Generated Imagery for Sustainable Gastronomic Tourism" at the 5th International Conference on Tourism and Business in Bangkok, Thailand on 21-23 August 2024.
Prof Haiyan Song, Dr Anyu Liu, Dr Richard Qiu, Dr Yitong Yu and Dr Hanyuan Zhang attended the 1st International Forum of Quantitative Tourism Research in Changchun, China on 22-24 August 2024. Prof Song delivered a keynote speech on "Impact of Tourism Research". Dr Liu presented a paper entitled "The Impact of Entrepreneurs' Learning Ability on SME's Recovery from the Pandemic — A Longitudinal Study of B&Bs in Zhangjiajie, China". Dr Qiu presented a paper entitled "Multi-Sector Destination Resilience Against Multiple Crises from the Spatiotemporal Perspectives". Dr Yu presented a paper entitled "Gig Workers' Job Crafting and Inclusion".
Dr Dagnachew Leta Senbeto presented a paper entitled "Crisis and Africa's Tourism Industry: A Comprehensive Review and Agenda for Future Research" at the International Conference on African Studies and Popular Culture in Winnipeg, Canada on 6-7 September 2024.
Prof Cathy Hsu spoke on "Tourism Marketing and Management Research Trends" at a seminar at the National Taichung University of Education in Taiwan on 26 September 2024.
Prof Hsu also gave a presentation on "Fostering Socially Sustainable Tourism Development through Social Listening" at the 26th Leisure, Recreation and Tourism Research Symposium and International Forum in Taichung, Taiwan on 27-28 September 2024.
Dean Kaye Chon, Prof Mimi Li, Prof Bela Stantic and Dr Lisa Gao attended the 2024 UN Tourism/PATA Forum on Tourism Trends and Outlook in Guilin, China on 18-20 October 2024. Dean Chon delivered the opening and closing remarks. Prof Li made a keynote presentation on "Inbound Educational Tourism for Overseas Chinese and Hong Kong Students". Prof Stantic participated in the panel session on "Education and Cultural Exchange in the Digital Age of Tourism".
