Following the success of the past two Rosewood Day events, the SHTM and Rosewood Hong Kong again joined forces to host this signature event on 21 February 2025. The event commenced with motivational speeches by Professor Kaye Chon, SHTM Dean, Chair Professor and Walter and Wendy Kwok Family Foundation Professor in International Hospitality Management, and Mr Hugo Montanari, Managing Director of Rosewood Hong Kong.
A panel discussion
moderated by SHTM Assistant Professors YooHee Hwang and Wangoo Lee followed, featuring senior executives from Rosewood Hong Kong: Mr Hugo Montanari; Ms Olena Pavlyshyn, Director of Rooms; and Mr Angus Pitkethley, Director of Sales and Marketing. SHTM students not only benefited from the insightful knowledge shared by these seasoned hoteliers but also had the invaluable opportunity to network with them during the breakout session, which will benefit their professional development.
At the
event, a team of talented SHTM students won the Rosewood Day's Challenge on "Shaping the Digital Future: Marketing Strategies for Mainland China 2025". These were Miss Kehan Wang and Miss Shuwen Tan from the BSc in Tourism and Events Management programme, along with Mr Regan Li, Ph.D. student in the Hotel and Tourism Management programme. They presented their innovative strategies and practical recommendations and received their certificates and prizes from Dean Kaye Chon and Mr Hugo
Montanari. Two finalist teams were also recognised, who received certificates and prizes from Professor Catherine Cheung, SHTM Associate Dean and Associate Professor, and Mr Dennis Wong, Director of Talent and Culture of Rosewood Hong Kong.
SHTM offers its sincere thanks to Rosewood Hong Kong for its unwavering support and commitment to nurturing the next generation of hospitality leaders and for contributing to the future development of the industry.
