Biography
Vivian F.W. Ngai is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is a Registered Midwife and received her Ph.D. in Nursing from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interest is in the area of perinatal health, with a special focus on postnatal depression. She has conducted extensive research applying evidence-based interventions for the prevention of postnatal depression. Her projects have been funded by the General Research Fund (GRF) and the Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF) as principal investigator. Her research has made significant contributions to the development of flexible, accessible and culturally sensitive perinatal care to enhance both maternal and paternal well-being. Her current projects focus on couple-based interventions to promote breastfeeding and assist mothers and fathers with healthy parenting. She is looking for Ph.D. students with interest in perinatal health.
