Prof. Zhipei SUN delivered a speech during the PRI Distinguished Seminar Series on 24 Oct 2023 (只有英文版本)

The Photonics Research Institute (PRI) Distinguished Seminar Series was successfully held on 24 Oct 2023.   Prof. Zhipei SUN, Professor of Aalto University in Finland, delivered an enlightening speech and shared his valuable insights to PolyU Staff, Students and PRI scholars.   We would like to express our gratitude to Prof. SUN and all the participants, ensuring that the success of the seminar.

We are pleased to announce that 17 Photonics Research Institute (PRI) scholars ranked among the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists in the newly released metrics compiled by Stanford University.   The scholars were named in the latest release of the Stanford University-led compilation of citation indicators covering over 100,000 top scientists. They were grouped into 22 subject fields and 174 sub-fields using indicators including information on citations, individual’s scientific research output, co-authorship and a composite indicator for career-long citation impact up to the end of 2022.   This recognition reflects the significant influence and research excellence of the scientists, who are committed to furthering their knowledge for the benefit of the world. Prof. Xuming ZHANG's team won the Co-innovation Award in Health Future Challenge 2023

Prof. Changyuan YU won the 2023 Faculty Award for Outstanding Achievement on Research and Scholarly Activities

Congratulations to Prof. Changyuan YU, Management Committee Member of Photonics Research Institute (PRI), on winning the 2023 Faculty Award for Outstanding Achievement on Research and Scholarly Activities. The winners of the Faculty Awards for Outstanding Achievement are chosen by the Faculty Assessment Panel, comprising Heads and chaired by the Dean of Faculty Engineering (FENG).

Ms Lydia YANG, General Manager of the Chinese Laser Press, and Mr Xiao-Feng WANG, chief editor of the Chinese Laser Press, led a group of editors visiting PolyU on 18 July 2023. During their visit, they participated in fruitful discussions and information exchanges with PRI researchers. In addition, the Chinese Laser Press delegation was given a tour showcasing various laboratories.
