We welcome nursing students from our partner institutions to join us for 1 semester/1 year exchange programme. Inbound students will have the opportunity to experience our cutting-edge nursing curriculum and academic community.

Outbound Exchange Programme
Our Student Outbound Exchange Programme offers an exceptional opportunity for students to enhance their academic and clinical experiences through study and clinical placements at partner universities and healthcare institutions worldwide.
This enriching journey not only enhances their educational experience but also fosters personal growth, improves cultural competence, and builds a global connections.
Eligibility
- Non-final-year students of 53455, 53455SY, 53482 and 53081 programme with an “active” study status in Semester 2, 2023-24
Academic Performance (Cumulative GPA)
- At least 3.2 or above (for Overseas programme)
- At least 2.5 or above (for China programme)
- Good grade in clinical subjects
Language Proficiency
- Good in English / Mandarin / other languages
Preferences
- Senior Year Students
- Students who never joined any exchange programme

Application Procedures
Application Period
- All eligible students will receive an invitation email from SN
- Check SN Webstie for the latest exchange programme offers in academic year. Due to limited quota, student can only select ONE overseas institution and ONE mainland china institution.
- Complete the online application form provided in the email. Confirmation email will be sent to your mailbox.
- Result will be announced by emails 3 weeks after submission deadline.
Successful Applicants
- Students are suggested to follow up their applications with the host institutions directly. Confirmation letters are normally received about 3-5 weeks after submission of application.
- Students should NOT purchase flight tickets or reserve accommodation before receiving official confirmation letter.
- Upon receiving the confirmation letter, students could apply for the Student Exchange Sponsorship and/or Financial Subsidies for Overseas Exchange Programme via GEO and WIE
- Students should also seek subject selection approval from student exchange coordinators for credit transfer.
You are only required to pay your PolyU tuition fee and do not need to pay addition tuition to your host institution as it is a reciprocal arrangement.
When you do your financial budget for your exchange, please bear in mind you need to include the following, but not limited, to your budget.

Visa application fee (If necessary)
Personal Travel Insurance*
Daily expenses (meals, laundry, etc.)
Activities fee (as per host institution)
Text Books and stationeries
*Basic insurance is covered by the school while students are still required to purchase personal travel insurance based on your own needs.
Once you receive the official admission offer from the host university, you should apply for your student visa. Check out the detail visa applications through consular affairs' websites.

"Singapore is a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural society, which comprises citizens of Chinese, Malays, and Indians. It was eye-opening to explore their diversity and richness of health beliefs and practices, so as the clinical setting. We were impressed by the adaptability of foreign nurses and the teamwork among the clinical setting, which alleviated the healthcare manpower shortage and contributed to the sustainable development of health care system."

"The valuable programme in HuaDong Hospital provided us learning opportunities on geriatric nursing care, intensive care in the ICU ward, as well as the chance to visits their traditional Chinese medicinal ward, surgical and medical ward. We are allowed to observed the how the experienced nurses delivered their specialties in different areas which enriched our nursing care knowledge in patients cares and reminded us that nursing is an art and science."
