Introduction:
Bruker timsTOF Pro 2 Mass Spectrometer is a high resolution mass spectrometer that has two distinct separation and sequencing technologies - Trapped Ion Mobility Spectrometry (TIMS) and Parallel Accumulation Serial Fragmentation (PASEF). TIMS add additional dimension of spearation on top of LC-MS to resolve sample complexity. Ions are accumulated and released based on their mobility (collisional cross section (CCS) of ions). With PASEF technology >100 Hz sequencing speed can be achieved with near 100% duty cycle which is nearly no ions loss so as to enhance sensitivty, peak capacity and characterize compounds in high confidence.
