Agilent 1260 Infinity II High Temperature Gel Permeation Chromatography (HT-GPC)

Introduction:

The Agilent 1260 Infinity II High Temperature GPC System is a fully automated chromatograph designed specifically for gel permeation chromatography (GPC) tests at high temperature. It possesses a dual-detector configuration including a refractive index detector and a viscometer, which not only enables the measurements of molecular weights and molecular weight distribution of polymer materials, but also can be used to probe the behaviour of polymer molecules in solution through the Mark-Houwink plot. The System also features a 40-position autosampler and a high-temperature sample preparation platform. Equipped with PLgel 10 μm MIXED-B columns, this instrument covers the range of weight-average molecular weight (Mw) from 1.0 × 103 to 1.0 × 107, with respect to standard polystyrene (PS).

Notes to users:

  1. First-time users must attend all training sessions before they can use the instrument independently;
  2. Samples must be soluble in 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene and the solution has to be prepared in the instructed way to avoid any damage or blockage;
  3. Only specific models of sample vials are allowed to be used. Consult the person-in-charge for more information.
