Introdcution:
A freeze dryer removes water from a perishable material in order to preserve it, extending its shelf life and/or making it more convenient for transport. Freeze dryers work by freezing the material, then reducing the pressure and adding heat to allow the frozen water in the material to change directly to a vapor (sublimate).
The Epsilon 2-4 LSCplus freeze dryer is a very compact, general purpose high-performance laboratory and pilot unit for tabletop installation. The application area of this unit extends from routine drying operations to process optimisation tasks.
This unit is suitable for drying solid or liquid, mainly aqueous products in vials, ampoules, tubes, other glass containers or dishes. The directly cooled and heated shelves made from Teflon coated solid aluminium enable especially fast cooling and heating processes.
Specifications:
- Ice condenser temperature: -88°C
- Shelf temperature: -70°C to +60°C
- Shelf temperature accuracy: max. ± 2°C
- Cooling rate: 2.3K/min (-40°C to +20°C shelf temp.)
Notes to user:
Only dry for water-based, pH neutral, non-volatile and non-odor solution
