Mr Glory Wan was graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1982 with a Diploma in Fashion and Clothing Manufacture and obtained a Master of Business Administration degree in Fashion Business from PolyU in 2005. He is currently Executive Director and General Manager of Texment Fashion Limited, a multinational clothing and manufacturing company which he established in 1987. His business, which has offices in six countries, also covers food chain stores and furniture and fabrics production.
Over the years, he has staunchly supported his alma mater’s development. Apart from donating funds to set up a scholarship for PolyU’s Institute of Textiles and Clothing students in 2003 and to support the University during the Government’s Second Matching Grant Scheme exercise in 2005, he recently established another scholarship for our Master of Business Administration students. His company has also generously sponsored various PolyU community service and fundraising activities such as Greening Hong Kong and Walk for Millions. Despite his busy schedule, Mr Wan has also contributed his time and energy to nurturing young people in Hong Kong. He is now Acting Chairman of our Student Competitiveness and Development Committee and a Mentor in our Student Mentorship Programme, benefiting our students with his wealth of experience and extensive network in the business sector.
Mr Wan also cares a lot about the community. He often donates to charitable organizations, in cash or in kind, and has sponsored the Hong Kong Catholic Commission For Labour Affairs in establishing a mobile office. In addition, he is Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association of Good Hope School and the School Manager of Maryknoll Secondary School.
