【#WeArePolyU】What excited you about teaching at PolyU?
“The linguistic ecology here! As a scholar of multilingualism, I am fascinated by our multilingual students, in the ways they weave different languages together during the course of a day and, at times, even during a single conversation.” For Dr Schluter, learning new languages never stops. This thirst for knowledge was obvious even in her high school years, when she studied three languages at the same time. Now a specialist in sociolinguistics, she is keen to research on how different languages function together in the same society and to infuse students with her passion for learning.
