【#WeArePolyU】In what ways can augmented reality (AR) technology help diabetic patients?
“With this gamification design, we hope to encourage patients to make lifestyle changes so as to lower the risk of diabetes complications, while maintaining a positive attitude towards the disease.” PolyU interactive media students Keneth Ng and Cat Leung created “Decktics”, a healthcare solution for patients with type II diabetes. Integrating AR with a mobile app, horticultural therapy and card games, “Decktics” provides tailor-made “missions” for individual patients, reminding them to pay attention to daily health habits in order to stabilise their health conditions.
