【#WeArePolyU】– “I hope the furniture I design can age together with the elderly.”
Since being diagnosed with brain cancer last year, Ying’s father suffered from deteriorating mobility and household furniture became problematic. This inspired Ying to design for her graduating project the “Treasure Block”, a set of household furniture for public housing units that can be conveniently adjusted. The furniture can cope with the elderly’s individual preferences, and be customised to meet their changing needs in everyday life as they age.
