To promote cultural exchange, eight German exchange students initiated and launched a German Night on 27 October 2003 , More than 80 residents from local, mainland China and overseas gathered and shared the joyful evening.

Other than giving a clear introduction of Germany , the German students prepared lots of splendid pictures, introduced many scenic spots and shared many interesting things such as German festivals, music and celebrities with the hall mates. All participants also had a chance to get a real taste of German beer, snacks and yummy sausages. The event closed with a lucky draw with a lucky girl being offered a lunch of two in a local Germany restaurant.
