Title of project:
Variation of Orthokeratology Lens Treatment Zone (VOLTZ) Study

Synopsis:
During orthokeratology (ortho-k) treatment, the central cornea will be flattened and the periphery cornea will be steepened in shape of a ring. This central flattened area is referred as the treatment zone (TZ). The ring of steepened cornea after ortho-k has been hypothesized to play an important role in myopia control and higher myopia reduction has been associated with smaller TZ. However, to date, there is no published studies reporting how changing the TZ could affect myopia control in ortho-k treatment. If TZ plays a role in myopia control, then reducing the diameter of TZ may enhance the myopia control effect. This study aims to investigate the effects of modified TZ by reducing the lens back optic zone diameter on the effect of myopia control.
