Objectives
The CoP of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) is especially created to help colleagues who are not only good teachers practising scholarly teaching but also interested in conducting research with the view to contribute new knowledge in any aspect of scholarly teaching and effective learning.
There are three objectives for this CoP:
- To raise awareness of SoTL: encourage and facilitate colleagues to evolve from Good Teaching to Scholarly Teaching and carry out educational research
- To plan and conduct activities/initiatives that serve to share and enhance all aspects of knowledge related to SoTL
- To harness a core Body of Knowledge in SoTL in the form of people, documents in repository, Open Educational Resources (OERs), and connections to external networks
Expected Outcomes
We expect three major outcomes for this CoP:
- Function as a “Help Centre” or “Centre of Excellence” harnessing and sharing knowledge on a wide spectrum of topics and issues related to SoTL
- Organise activities to expand nucleus of core knowledge possessed by a steadily increasing number of core members in the community
- Increase the number of staff who carries out educational research and advances scholarship of teaching and learning
