Area of Specialization
Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) for Aircraft Structures, Advanced Composites and Aircraft Structure Mechanics, Ultrasonic Wave Propagation, Non-destructive Evaluation, Smart Materials and Sensors, Solid Mechanics
Short Description
Dr Wang received his B.Eng. and M.Sc. degrees in Aeronautical Engineering from Beihang University (BUAA), Beijing, China, in 2011 and 2014, respectively, and the PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), in 2019. Before joining Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering (AAE) at PolyU as a Research Assistant Professor, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Mechanical Engineering Department at PolyU.
His research interests and experience include (1) investigation of novel structural health monitoring (SHM) approaches for aircraft structures, (2) development of advanced composites and smart sensors (3) the application of ultrasonic wave-based methods for the non-destructive evaluation of engineering structures, and (4) development of laser ultrasound-based approaches for material characterization and their biological applications.
