從虛擬世界發掘無限商機

劉耀中（Ingo）與拍檔林泳豪（Carkos），自小便喜歡電腦遊戲，兩人同時期在理大修讀互聯網及多媒體科技碩士課程，讀書時已志趣相投，畢業後便一起開設遊戲公司。由最初經營卡牌遊戲（Card Game），到後來獲得「理大微型基金計劃」及HKDC「設計創業培育計劃」的資助，之後開發手機遊戲，曾獲得多個科技及遊戲開發獎項。2018年，兩人合資成立初創企業MICology，開始利用擴增實境（AR）和虛擬實境（VR）等技術提供3D模擬服務，針對不同行業所需，例如建築、物流、公共交通，以至零售業，提供具創意的解決方案。

Ingo與Carkos將這盤生意統稱為「數據視覺化及模擬服務」，其應用範圍包括建築信息模擬、地理數據模擬和機械動作模擬等。就以建築設計及施工為例，只要將工程數據輸入電腦，便可轉換成3D建築圖則，擺脱傳統度尺及看圖紙的做法。承建商可分析不同的AR建築模擬效果，就如置身現場，甚至可以「看穿牆」，透視地下水管、電綫及地質層的狀況，及時找出問題，糾正錯誤。

這種嶄新服務在其他行業的可塑性也極高，它可以模擬不同場景，預測可能出現情況，例如它可以評估人流物流、計算交通班次，設計機械人送貨路線等，有助業界提高生產效率，節省成本。Ingo與Carkos現時除了開發軟件，亦積極運用大數據和物聯網，為各行各業提供更適切和完備的解決方案、產品及服務，在虛擬世界中創造更多可能。

對於科技初創來說，人才及資金的供應尤為重要，在投入產品開發前，必先做好前期計劃及市場調查，以便調配資源。Ingo 表示在疫情爆發期間，醫療、物流派送及遙距操作等行業生意激增，或會帶動承接相關IT項目的公司受惠；另一邊廂，零售行業不景氣，拖累連帶服務停頓。面對經濟下滑，各行各業都需要開源節流或覓新方向，初創也面臨重大挑戰。

Ingo及Carkos以過來人的經驗勉勵理大畢業生：「現時經濟形勢嚴峻，市場不穩定，很多計劃都會被打亂。我鼓勵大家積極裝備自己，待社會和營商環境重回正軌，必定有新出路。」

On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment, so blinded by desire, that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble that are bound to ensue; and equal blame belongs to those who fail in their duty through weakness of will, which is the same as saying through shrinking from toil and pain. The wise man therefore always holds in these matters to this principle of selection: he rejects pleasures to secure other greater pleasures, or else he endures pains to avoid worse pains.
