Prof. Alan Lau Kin-tak has an extensive academic and industrial background. Having begun his career as an aircraft maintenance apprentice, he worked for various engineering companies in Hong Kong and Australia before joining the academia. Prior to his current role, he was Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Partnerships and Digital Innovation) of Swinburne University of Technology in Australia, taking charge of its research performance, international research and ranking strategy. He was also ranked among the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists in 2022. With his strong partnerships and research excellence, Prof. Lau is well-positioned to provide strategic leadership and operational management to enhance Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) in support of Hong Kong’s industry growth.
