Committed to contributing his academic expertise to solutions tackling chemicals, energy and environmental issues, Prof. Edman Tsang Shik-chi is the first known scientist who modified carbon nanotubes with biological enzymes or related biomaterials. Once ranked among the top 10% most highly cited researchers in the general chemistry category under the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), he has published over 450 refereed papers in international journals such as Nature and Science, and has been decorated with honours like RSC Industry-Academia Collaboration Award, Royal Society Surfaces and Interfaces Award, and Royal Society Green Chemistry Award. He is also a co-founder of OXGRIN, a spin-out from Oxford University that commercialises his breakthrough catalytic technologies for green energy applications.
