Mr Jay Wong Hiu-kit, along with another PolyU alumnus, co-directed the award-winning animated short film "Monsoon Blue", which uses a trapped goldfish as a metaphor for the protagonist's lostness in life. From the outset, the film was not intended to rely solely on local promotion, but rather sought recognition through participation in exhibitions and the acquisition of awards. Their strategic approach paid off handsomely, as "Monsoon Blue" won the esteemed Best Animated Short Film Award at the Golden Horse Film Festival 2024, as well as the Grand Prize at the 25th DigiCon6 ASIA Awards, the Best Animated Short Film Award at the Kuandu International Animation Festival 2023, and the Gold Award at the 10th Animation Support Program.
