【Alumni Tours and Adventures Club】Lantau Scenic Hike

Following the spring outing to Tung Lung Chau and Lei Yue Mun last month, the Alumni Tours and Adventures Club organised another exciting outdoor event on Lantau Island on 20 April 2025. On the sunny morning of the Easter holiday, more than twenty graduates from various generations gathered at Tung Chung Town Centre, eager to reconnect and ready to set off amidst joy and laughter.

Dr Felix Yip and Mr Jason Kan, core members of the Club, led the group to Shek Mun Kap Village, the starting point of the hike. Along the trail, participants admired ancient temples renowned for their excellent photo opportunities. After about an hour, they reached a platform offering fine views of the airport in the Islands District, signalling that the destination was close, much to the excitement of the group. They arrived at Ngong Ping around noon, where everyone captured memorable photos beneath the majestic Big Buddha that marked a successful conclusion of the Club’s hiking event.

After the hike, some newly acquainted PolyU “hiking buddies” were reluctant to part ways and chose to continue their camaraderie at Po Lin Monastery Vegetarian Kitchen for a delightful meal. This perfectly aligns with the mission of the interest club: to connect graduates through travel and foster partnerships in sharing and exploration!
