On 16 August 2017, Mr Anthony Lo, Vice President, Exterior Design of Renault, France, at the invitation of the School of Design and Alumni Affairs and Development Office of PolyU, delivered a lecture on the topic of “Could this be the best job in the world? The journey of a car designer”. The lecture attracted the participation of nearly 100 guests, alumni, staff and students.
Mr Lo was a recipient of the Outstanding PolyU Alumni Award in 2013. Before Mr Lo’s lecture, Dr Kitty Yam, Associate Vice President (Institutional Advancement) and Director of Alumni Affairs and Development, and Prof. Cees de Bont, Dean of School of Design, presented to Mr Lo the Award trophy that the University had arranged to present to him at the Award’s presentation ceremony held in 2013 which Mr Lo was unfortunately unable to attend.
During the lecture, Mr Lo shared with the audience his journey from being a car fanatic to being a professional car designer with experience of working in global companies. He also talked about his passion for his job that was vital to his success and encouraged young people to pursue their dreams.
