On 25 September 2021, a homecoming event was successfully organised for the Mainland Graduates who graduated in 2010 and 2011 and are currently residing in Hong Kong. A total of 60 alumni visited their alma mater.
The event was co-organised by Mainland Development Office and Mainland and International Alumni Sub-committee of Federation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Associations. Our alumni visited the Research Centre for Deep Space Explorations, the Aviation Services Research Centre, Jockey Club Innovation Tower and Alumni Atrium at the campus tour.
After the campus tour, President Professor Jin-Guang Teng, together with Executive Vice President Dr Miranda Lou, Director of Mainland Development Professor Lu Haitian, President of Federation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Associations Dr David Ng and Convenor of Mainland and International Alumni Sub-Committee of Federation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Associations Dr Steven Chen, met the alumni in the Alumni Atrium. President Teng, Dr Ng and Dr Chen introduced PolyU’s latest development and the work of the Federation. As PolyU will celebrate its 85th anniversary next year, President Teng invited the alumni to support and join the celebration events.
Alumnus Kevin Han and alumnus Ray Liu, representatives of alumni graduated in 2010 and 2011 respectively, shared their feelings after graduated for 10 years, as well as treasurable videos of their fond memories at PolyU.
The event was hosted by 2010 graduate Anthony Zou and 2011 graduate Wayne Wu, creating a relaxed and happy atmosphere.
Some alumni in the Mainland and overseas also participated in the event online, bringing together the alumni from different regions.
