On 23 March 2023, more than 110 graduating students were brought together at the Alumni Atrium for Briefing Sessions for Graduating Class Ambassadors (GCAs).
Ms Wanze Li, Interim Director of Alumni Affairs, gave a warm welcome to all GCAs. She introduced their important role in helping the alma mater to connect with graduates, especially through sharing alumni news and promoting PolyU’s latest development to their fellow classmates.
Ir Yau Kwok-fai, President of the Federation of PolyU Alumni Associations, encouraged the GCAs to join alumni associations to expand their social network and horizons.
Other highlights of the event included a tour of the Alumni Atrium, and group discussions led by representatives from the alumni associations and colleagues of the Alumni Affairs Office. Excited about meeting the alumni leaders and other companions, the participating GCAs shared with them good ideas about engaging young alumni, peer communication and so on. Some of them even volunteered to support the upcoming alumni activities and initiatives.
This year, more than 340 final-year students from various faculties and schools of PolyU as well as the Hong Kong Community College have been nominated as GCAs. We would like to thank Faculties/ Schools/ Departments for their nominations. Our appreciation also goes to the alumni leaders, including Ir Yau, Mr Justin Chan, Mr Desmond Fung, Miss Winky Lui, Mr Dominic Tse, Mr Paul Tsui, and Dr Marcus Wong, who rendered their enthusiastic support for this kick-off event.
