LOCATION
The workshop will be held at the "Ettore Majorana" International Centre
for Scientific Culture, Erice, Italy. The Centre is situated in the old
pre-medieval city of Erice and the lecture halls are located in two restored
monasteries and the ancient Palazzo Ventimiglia - former residence of the
Viceroys of Sicily. More information about the other activities of the
"Ettore Majorana" International Centre can be found on the website:- http://www.ccsrm.infn.it

HOW
TO PARTICIPATE
There will be several organized sessions (clusters), and a limited number
of places available for contributed participants.
The total fee is Euro 800. It includes local transportation, lodging
and full board (arranged by the Centre), coffee breaks, one day excursion,
social dinner and other social events. Due to the limited number of beds
in Erice - an very ancient village - participants are kindly requested
to share a room, indicating the partner; a single room will have an extra
charge of 10%.
Participants are expected to arrive Erice on July 9 and to leave on
July 17.
Those who wish to attend the workshop should fill the following form
and send it by e-mail to Professor Franco Giannessi, the Director of the
School, at gianness@dm.unipi.it, cc a copy to Professor Liqun Qi, the Director
of the Workshop, at maqilq@polyu.edu.hk, as soon as possible, no later
than April 30, 2001.

HOW
TO REACH ERICE
Erice is situated in the north-west corner of Sicily, in the south of
Italy. The easiest way to reach it is either via Palermo or via Trapani.
The Majorana Centre will then provide transportation to Erice from Palermo
or Trapani airports, seaports or railway stations. More details will be
given to admitted applicants.
A
RELATED WORKSHOP
On June 30 - July 9, 2001, the International School of Mathematics "G.
Stampacchia" will have another workshop on "High Performance Algorithms
and Software for Nonlinear Optimization". Its directors are Gianni Di Pillo,
Università di Roma "La Sapienza", and Almerico Murli, Università
si Napoli "Federico II". For people who participate in the both workshops,
the overall fee is 20% discounted.
