Dr Grace Seo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Social Sciences and the director of the Centre for Social Policy and Social Entrepreneurship at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to joining APSS in 2018, she worked as a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore and The University of Hong Kong. Her research areas focus on housing in ageing society, housing and well-being, and affordable housing policy in East Asia.

Dr Seo has also researched on various issues related to urban planning and urban policy governance. Her research papers have been published in various renowned journals, such as Cities, Housing Studies, Public Health Nutrition, Journal of Applied Gerontology, and Health & Social Care in the Community. Her postgraduate studies were supported by the Graduate Study Abroad Scholarship of the Korean Government and the Hong Kong Government Scholarship. Currently, she is conducting research projects on the impact of housing disadvantage on health and the nonprofit housing governance in Hong Kong and South Korea. She also serves the editorial board of the Youth Facility & Environment Journal.
