Biography

Dr Wong Sau-kuen Stella is a registered social worker. She received her Bachelor’s degree of Social Work (Hons) from the Hong Kong Baptist University and Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She then obtained her Master of Social Sciences and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from The University of Hong Kong. She has a keen interest in nurturing younger generations of social workers and advancement of teaching pedagogy. She is currently the Director of Fieldwork Education, overseeing the work of fieldwork team with the aim of providing quality learning experience for students to put theory into practice through an immersive experience at an agency. Over the past years, she has also been involved in a number of teaching and learning projects, focusing on the use of innovative and interactive pedagogies to enhance students’ learning experience. Her research interests include: youth participation in gambling, social media in counselling and use of technology in social work education. Apart from teaching, she currently serves as a Social Service Committee Member of the Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association and an Assessment Team Member for Qualification Recognition Review of the Social Workers Registration Board.
