Programme Overview
High-achieving students who have obtained outstanding scores in public examination at the time of being admitted to the major in Social Policy and Social Entrepreneurship under the BA (Hons) Scheme in Applied Social Sciences programme (Prog. Code : 54439) or in Year 3 can be given an opportunity to pursue a Fast-track Programme with the awards in BA (Hons) in Social Policy & Social Entreprenurship (Prog. Code : 54439-SPE) and MSc in ESG and Sustainability (Prog. Code : 21054) starting from 2025 cohort.
Programme Synergy
The MSc in ESG and Sustainability programme will be an excellent pathway for interested students to pursue further studies and a career in ESG-related industries and professions, including corporate sustainable development management, consulting, and green finance. The MSc programme will also build on the foundation in the Social Policy and Social Entrepreneurship programme.
Entry Path and Admission Requirements
Year 1 Entry
- JUPAS (Local) : At least Level 5** in 2 subjects with HKDSE Best 5 score of 26 or above (Conversion scale 5**=8.5; 5*=7; 5=5.5; 4=4);
- Non-JUPAS (Local) and Non-JEE (Mainland and NLNM) : IB score of 39 or above (or equivalent); or
- JEE (Mainland) : Total score within the Top 3% of the province of the examination year
Year 3 Entry
- Attained a cummulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.30 or above at the end of Semester 2 of Year 2; and
- Recommended by the Programme Leader
Normal Study Duration
Students enrolled in the Fast-track programme jointly offered by the by Department of Applied Social Sciences and School of Accounting and Finance can normally complete both Ug and TPg programmes in full-time mode within 4.5 years, which is a shorter duration than completing them one by one.

Level 5 Master’s Degree Subjects to be Included in the Ug Curriculum
Fast-track programme students can take up to 9 credits (30% of the credit requirement of the TPg curriculum) from the following level 5 subjects within their Ug curriculum, and these credits will count towards the TPg programme award.

Maintain Enrollment in the Fast-track Programme
Students are required to maintain a CGPA of 3.30 or above at the end of Semester Two to stay on the Fast-track Programme.
Two Awards
Two award parchments will be issued to students who have completed the requirements of the Fast-track programme (one for the Bachelor’s degree and another for the Master’s degree). The BA award will be available at the end of the nominal 4-year study period (i.e., students can participate in graduation activities of his/her own cohort while continuing the postgraduate study).
Reduced Tuition Fees
Fast-track students should pay the flat fees for undergraduate and postgraduate subjects taken during the undergraduate study years from Year 1 to 4 and pay the credit fees to the postgraduate programme after deducting the credit fees for the postgraduate subjects taken in Year 5, saving up to 30% of credit fees at the postgraduate programme.
