CEE Departmental Review 2023

The CEE Departmental Review (DR), which aimed to assess all departmental activities for developmental purposes and international benchmarking, was successfully held on 3 and 4 April 2023. Prof. Xiangdong Li (Dean of FCE, PolyU), Prof. Farhard Ansari (UIC Distinguished Professor, Department of Civil, Materials and Environmental Engineering, University of Illinois Chicago), Prof. Julia Stegemann (Professor of Environmental Engineering, University College London) and Prof. Charles Wong (Professor, Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics, PolyU) formed the DR Panel of this exercise.

During the visit, the Panel met with CEE’s management team, staff and student representatives, alumni, and industry representatives. They deliberated on CEE’s plans and strategies, academic programme updates and research achievements. Laboratory tours to the Concrete Materials Laboratory, the Structural Engineering Research Laboratory and the Railway Corner were also arranged for the two overseas panel members, namely Prof. Ansari and Prof. Stegemann.
