This Minor programme provides students with foundational knowledge of the development of science and technology in Chinese and global history, and the impact of scientific exchanges between China and other regions. It complements major programmes at PolyU by enhancing students’ understanding of China’s rich history, particularly the role of science and technology. Specifically, this programme aims to:
- develop students’ perspectives on critical issues related to the evolution of science and technology in China;
- deepen students’ understanding of Chinese history and culture, particularly the role of science and technology in shaping historical and contemporary China;
- enhance students’ understanding of the interactions between China and the world throughout history and their impact;
- reinforce students’ written and verbal communication skills in a bilingual learning environment
