Dr. Madhup Pandey joined the CNERC as a Postdoctoral Fellow in January 2019 for half a year. His research interests include, but not limited to, cold-formed steel structures, fire and post-fire behaviour of metal structures, high strength steel tubular joints, strain concentration factor investigation, testing and design of steel structures, thin-walled steel structures, tubular members and welding. Prior to entering the research domain, he worked as a Structural Design Engineer in SYSTRA and Larsen & Toubro Limited in India from 2012 to 2014. His research findings have been published in reputed international conferences and journals. Currently, he is working on the numerical and design investigation of high strength steel tubular joints. Dr. Pandey received his PhD degree from The University of Hong Kong in 2018. He obtained his MSc (Eng.) degree in Structural Engineering also from The University of Hong Kong in 2015 with Distinction where, he was accoladed with “Leung Ting Kui and Chow Che King Scholarship” for scoring the highest marks in the MSc Structural Engineering programme. He graduated from the Jai Narain Vyas University (Formerly, University of Jodhpur), India in 2012 with First Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering. He bagged University Gold Medal and Alumni Gold Medal for securing the first position in the Department of Civil Engineering throughout the B.Eng. curriculum. He is also a recipient of the renowned state level ‘Bhamashah Award’ for achieving the first position in the B.Eng. (Civil) programme amongst all the Universities of the state of Rajasthan in 2012.
