PolyU hosted the 80th Anniversary Open Day on 2 and 3 December to showcase the University’s latest developments and achievements as well as its wealth of facilities to the public.
The two-day event featured over 100 spectacular programmes and activities, ranging from creative showcases, themed talks, interesting workshops, tours, fun games and performance. On this special occasion, the University also held the Naming Ceremony of the Pauline Tsang Po Yan Gallery, as well as the Unveiling Ceremonies of the Wall of Pride @ Alumni Atrium and the Sculpture “Congregation”.
A highlight event of the Open Day was the cycling activity “8 x 80 Cycling”, which brought together over 400 PolyU staff, students, alumni and their families and friends to bike through the University campus and Yau Tsim Mong. Details

理大於12月2至3日舉辦八十周年校慶開放日,向公眾展示大學多年來的教研成果、最新發展以及各類校園設施。
開放日設有超過一百項不同形式的精彩活動,包括主題展覽區、講座、特色工作坊、導賞、趣味遊戲及表演。藉此特別日子,大學亦舉辦「曾尹寶恩展覽廳」命名典禮、思源牆@校友薈及雕塑「匯聚」揭幕典禮。
開放日的重點活動—「8 x 80 單車樂」聚集超過四百名理大的教職員、學生、校友與他們的家人朋友一同騎單車穿越校園及油尖旺區。 詳情

On 7 December, around 2,000 local and overseas honourable guests gathered at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to join the University's 80th Anniversary Celebration Dinner. Chief Executive the Hon Mrs Carrie Lam, joined by a stage party of over 40 distinguished guests, officiated a glittering lighting ceremony.
World-renowned pianist Mr Lang Lang, who has just been conferred PolyU University Fellowship, gave a stunning performance in celebration of PolyU’s anniversary. The President’s Band also took the stage with special guests, including Secretary for Development the Hon Michael Wong, Secretary for Food and Health Professor the Hon Sophia Chan, as well as PolyU University Fellows Dr Raymond Chan and Miss Cally Kwong. 12月7日,理大於香港會議展覽中心舉行慶祝建校八十周年晚宴,約二千位來自本地和世界各地的嘉賓出席,場面盛大,熣燦奪目的亮燈儀式則由行政長官林鄭月娥女士與逾四十位主禮嘉賓一同主持。
剛獲理大頒授大學院士榮銜的國際知名鋼琴家郎朗先生在場演奏,祝賀大學校慶;而由唐偉章校長領導的校長樂隊亦於晚宴演出,表演嘉賓包括發展局局長黃偉綸先生、食物及衞生局局長陳肇始教授、理大大學院士陳煒文博士及鄺美雲小姐,令晚宴帶來精彩難忘的時刻。詳情
